“Europe, which I believe in, with the multipolarity that I defend, must build new rules of trust and security with Russia and should not only agree with NATO. It needs to build a relationship only between Europe and Russia,” President Macron said in an interview with Swiss television channel RTS.
At the same time, Macron noted that despite the lack of visible progress on the Minsk Agreements on Donbass, one cannot talk about reforming the G8, which was reduced to the “G7” in 2014. Despite this, Europe “must conduct a strategic dialogue with Russia” and “restore relations,” Macron said.
