“The permanent representatives considered at today’s meeting the Council’s decision to extend the restrictive measures against Crimea and Sevastopol. The agenda contained an item that did not require discussion, the decision was submitted for adoption in writing,” a source close to the EU said.

According to him, it is up to the EU Council to complete the final procedure.

The Permanent Representations Committee is responsible for coordinating and preparing the work of the various structures within the Council, coordinating the documents submitted to the Council for approval. The Permanent Representations Committee, as a subsidiary body, is neither an independent EU institution nor a decision-making body.

The next meeting of the EU Council at foreign ministers level is scheduled for 17 June.
