Prosecution of boat owner for illegal gravel mining
(Baonghean.vn) - On June 13, the Investigation Police Agency of Nghe An Province Police issued a decision to prosecute a case and prosecute a defendant residing in Lang Son Commune, Anh Son District for illegal gravel mining on the Lam River.
Previously, at 5:30 a.m. on May 14, the Environmental Police Department (Nghe An Provincial Police) discovered that Mr. Vo Van Thanh's boat had used a high-capacity suction machine with a 6-meter long suction hose to directly and illegally exploit gravel on Lam River in Vinh Son Commune, Anh Son District.

During the inspection, the authorities discovered that Mr. Thanh’s boat had illegally exploited more than 26 cubic meters of gravel. In addition, the owner of the vehicle was also unable to present legal documents for the boat and a boating license. It is worth noting that the subjects often choose to operate at dawn and assign people to keep watch in order to avoid the authorities.
It is known that in 2018, Mr. Thanh's boat was also administratively handled by Anh Son District Police for illegal mineral exploitation.

Currently, the Nghe An Police Investigation Agency has issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute the accused Vo Van Thanh (born in 1963, residing in Lang Son commune, Anh Son district) for the crime of "Violating regulations on resource exploitation" as prescribed in Clause 1, Article 227 of the Penal Code.
