(Baonghean.vn) - Although they only finished second in the Premier League, being overtaken by Man City and losing the English Premier League title this season, their recent victory over Tottenham in the Champions League final has brought the team nicknamed "The Reds" a very profitable season financially.

With their recent successes and the "shower" of prize money, Liverpool will have plenty of money to spend in the 2019 summer transfer window to bring in quality signings.

Previously, although Man City won the Premier League title, the Merseyside club was the highest-earning club in the Premier League.

With their fiery, highly technical style of play, blended with the tenacity of German football, it's no surprise that The Kop has a huge fan base: 29 of Jurgen Klopp's team's matches have been televised in England, the most among the 20 clubs in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, wealthy London club Manchester City, despite being the reigning champions, only had 26 matches broadcast. In total, Liverpool earned $190 million in domestic, commercial, and international television revenue.

In addition, with their Champions League victory after defeating Tottenham in the final, Liverpool earned $125 million; of which $85 million went to the winning team, $14 million from television rights revenue, and an additional $26 million in profit-sharing from UEFA.

In total, across all competitions this season, the Anfield club earned approximately $315 million, including prize money, television revenue, and commercial revenue. This is the largest reported financial income figure in the club's history to date.

Having concluded the 2018-2019 season with resounding success as Champions League champions, the Anfield team is making long-term preparations for their campaign to conquer all competitions in the coming seasons.

Liverpool's latest move is to extend manager Jurgen Klopp's contract, despite him still having three years left on his current one. They are also renewing contracts with stars who impressed last season. In the transfer market, with ample funds, Liverpool are actively negotiating to bring quality signings to Anfield to strengthen their squad and deepen their ambitions.

Notable targets that have caught the attention of the "Red Brigade" include Felipe Anderson (West Ham), De Ligt (Ajax), Nicolas Pepe (Lille), Samuel Chukwueze (Vilarreal), Nabik Fekir (Lyon)... With the abundant financial resources earned this season, along with their 6th Champions League title in history, the status of the Liverpool team has been significantly elevated.

It's no surprise, then, that Anfield is a target for many players. Therefore, Liverpool will have no difficulty negotiating blockbuster signings for their long-term plans, and they promise to become a real powerhouse, competing on equal footing with Man City, Chelsea, MU, and Tottenham in the domestic league, as well as venturing beyond England to challenge Real, Barca, Juventus, Bayern, and PSG in European competitions.

A challenging season awaits the reigning European champions. Given their achievements and ambitions, can Liverpool overthrow Man City in the domestic league, or can they do what Real Madrid did last season – successfully defend their Champions League title? This will be a difficult question for Jurgen Klopp's team. The strength of the Champions League champions will be tested in the European Super Cup match against the Europa League champions (Chelsea) on August 15th.

As the reigning champions of Europe and Premier League runners-up, Liverpool will undoubtedly be determined to pursue their ambitions in all competitions and promise to have an extremely explosive season.
