Những thói quen sử dụng ô tô có thể gây nguy hiểm cho tài xế
Dưới đây là một số mối nguy hiểm do chính tài xế tạo ra trên ô tô của mình. Nguyên nhân phần lớn do sự chủ quan, thiếu kinh nghiệm của tài xế.
Cài đai giả, đai chết
Trên hầu hết các mẫu xe ô tô ngày nay đều có trang bị dây đai an toàn, thậm chí tính năng nhắc báo “quên” thắt đai an toàn còn là trang bị tiêu chuẩn thường thấy. Tuy nhiên, nhiều tài xế và người ngồi cạnh chủ quan cắm sẵn dây đai hoặc dùng cài đai giả để “lừa” tắt tiếng cảnh báo khó chịu.
Hành động trên hết sức nguy hiểm và chẳng khác nào tự sát nếu xảy ra tai nạn. Theo tính toán của các chuyên gia ô tô, nếu người ngồi trên xe không thắt dây an toàn thì việc va đập vào kính chắn gió, vô lăng, bảng táp lô, ghế phía trước... với vận tốc và lực rất mạnh. Ví dụ, nếu xe chạy 50km/h thì lực va đập ước tính bằng rơi từ độ cao 40m xuống đất.
Ngoài ra, nếu không thắt dây an toàn, khi vào cua hoặc phanh gấp, người lái theo quán tính sẽ nhào về phía trước hoặc văng sang trái, phải khiến tay tỳ vào vô-lăng một cách vô thức dễ dẫn đến khó xử lý tình huống.

In the US in 2011, Toyota had to recall more than 2.2 million vehicles due to faulty floor mats that could trap the accelerator pedal. This led to many car manufacturers later designing additional floor mats with locks to help fix the position, avoiding displacement during use.
Hang heavy objects under the rearview mirror in the car
Hanging heavy objects such as amulets, perfumes, Buddha statues or toys is common among Asian drivers for many reasons such as hobbies, religion, luck, etc. However, this seemingly harmless practice can potentially cause drivers to spend money on windshield repairs.
Just like not wearing a seat belt, hanging a heavy object under your rearview mirror increases the risk of impact during sudden braking or a collision. The heavy object hanging under your mirror will be like a bullet shooting forward, increasing the risk of shattering the windshield.
Front and rear window sill trim
Many people have the habit or learn from each other by decorating and placing objects on the front windshield and rear window sill. Many objects are often placed such as statues, perfume bottles, tissue boxes, even photo frames...
When colliding or braking suddenly, these objects are no different from objects that increase the damage because they are not securely fixed, and are right at the head of the person sitting in the car, making them extremely dangerous.
