(Baonghean.vn) - Does VFF need to increase the salary of Coach Park Hang-seo? Thailand may have to spend a lot of money to hire a Japanese coach who participated in the World Cup; MU is not ready to buy Harry Maguire; Copa America: Colombia narrowly defeated Qatar to win the first ticket to the quarterfinals are notable sports news today.

Does VFF need to increase salary for coach Park Hang-seo?

The issue of salary for coach Park Hang-seo when extending his contract has caused a lot of controversy recently, what should we think about correctly?

In fact, it is difficult to give an exact figure because the salary for Coach Park Hang-seo or any employee depends on many factors: the ability of the hired person, dedication to the company (in Mr. Park Hang-seo's case, it is Vietnamese football), and of course, the financial capacity of the hired person. Another factor that can affect the salary is the negotiation ability between the two parties.

The VFF's responsibility is to negotiate to retain coach Park Hang-seo with a salary that is worthy of his contributions and abilities while ensuring the ability to pay, without affecting other activities for which the federation is responsible. As for the media and fans, perhaps they should not put pressure on either side.

Let VFF and Coach Park Hang-seo work together in a spirit of cooperation, because the ultimate goal must be for Vietnamese football. It can be believed that, based on his long-standing statements, Mr. Park also really wants to continue his current job. The Korean coach will easily agree when receiving goodwill and a worthy proposal from VFF.

Thailand may have to spend a lot of money to hire a Japanese coach who attended the World Cup.

Siam Sport reported that Mr. Nishino has submitted his application to the Football Association of Thailand (FAT). However, the newspaper cited information from people who have worked in the Japan Football Association saying that the salary of this 64-year-old strategist is a huge number.

According to a source from J.League club Yokohama F. Marinos, Mr. Nishino receives a monthly salary of approximately 30 million yen (about 270,000 USD). For FAT, this number is too large.

The most recent foreign strategist to lead the Thai team was Serbian Milovan Rajevac, who received $58,000/month, only 1/4 of the reference salary of the former J.League midfielder.

In Southeast Asia, Mr. Rajevac's salary is second only to veteran coach Sven-Goran Eriksson of the Philippines team ($80,000/month). However, these figures are nothing compared to Mr. Nishino's old salary in Japan.

The figure of 270,000 USD/month is even 13 times higher than the current salary of Coach Park Hang-seo. In January 2020, Coach Park's contract will expire and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is urgently negotiating a new contract.

Nishino, 64, led Japan to the knockout stages of the 2018 World Cup. The Samurai Warriors had a two-goal lead over Belgium, but lost in the final minutes.

Prior to that, Mr. Nishino spent 10 years leading Gamba Osaka Club and created a huge record of achievements in J.League. He won the national championship in 2005, won the AFC Champions League in 2008, was twice voted the best coach of J.League and was voted the number one coach of the continent in 2008 by the Asian Football Confederation.

MU not ready to buy Harry Maguire for 90 million pounds

Solskjaer desperately needs a centre-back and Harry Maguire has been on United's wish list since Mourinho's time. But negotiations with Leicester are even harder now than last season.

MU muốn Leicester hạ giá bán Maguire
MU wants Leicester to lower Maguire's selling price.
Last year, MU failed to buy Maguire because the price was too high - 75 million pounds, thinking it was due to the 2018 World Cup effect. As a result, this central defender signed a new 5-year contract with the Foxes.

However, Leicester City have now even valued the England international at a world record for a defender - £90m.

It is because of this money issue that MU's chance to buy Harry Maguire continues to face difficulties. Vice President Ed Woodward has no intention of paying that astronomical figure, and takes Liverpool's purchase of Van Dijk (75 million pounds) as the benchmark for the world's top defender.

To get closer to Harry Maguire, MU is willing to provide a series of additional utilities, including a name in the first team in the negotiation contract.

For his part, Maguire really wants to move to play for MU, of which he was a fan when he was young.

Copa America: Hard-won victory over Qatar, Colombia wins first ticket to quarter-finals

Against a very resilient Qatar, Colombia had to wait until the last minutes to win 1-0 and get a ticket to the Copa America quarter-finals.

It took just over 5 minutes for Colombia to score against Qatar when Roger Martinez headed home from close range after a corner kick. But luckily for Qatar, the striker was offside so the referee did not recognize the goal.

After dominating the first half but failing to score, Colombia continued to push forward in the second half.

In the first minutes of this match, the referee once again used VAR to review another handball situation in the Qatar penalty area. Finally, after a few minutes of waiting, the referee in black continued to say no to the 11m.

Undaunted, Colombia continued to press the field and had many opportunities to score, but the excellence of goalkeeper Al Sheeb discouraged the South American team's strikers.

It wasn't until the 86th minute that Colombia finally got what they wanted. James Rodriguez skillfully flicked the outside of his right foot to drop the ball into Qatar's 16m50 area and Duvan Zapata chose the right spot to make a dangerous header, leaving Al Sheeb helpless.

The goal from the "monster" wearing the Atalanta shirt was enough for Colombia to have a 1-0 victory over Qatar, thereby becoming the first team to win a ticket to the quarter-finals of this year's Copa America./.
