(Baonghean.vn) - After the information about the fraudster Nguyen Thanh Binh (born in 1959, residing in Cong Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district) was exposed, Do Luong district police received many more reports from local people denouncing this "fake fortune teller".

On June 20-21, Do Luong District Police continuously received reports from people about the fraudster Nguyen Thanh Binh.

A typical case is that of Ms. NTT, residing in Yen Son commune, Do Luong. According to Ms. T's report, in August 2018, Binh came to her house to get acquainted and learn about Ms. NTT's family situation. After gaining her trust, Binh used the trick of fortune telling with playing cards, looking at the family's past, family affairs, and geography.

Binh judged that Ms. T.'s family garden was cursed and showed her where to get a hoe to dig. After digging for a while, Binh told Ms. T. to go inside and burn incense. Taking advantage of the moment when Ms. T. was not in the garden, Binh quickly took some gold from an old porcelain jar and put it in the hole that had just been dug and covered it with soil.

After burning incense, Ms. T. continued digging and was "shocked" to see the "artifact" that Binh had arranged. Binh judged that this was an ancient antique, and its appearance in Ms. N.'s garden was both a good and bad omen. It would bring good luck to the homeowner if a "curse-removing" ceremony was performed. Still shocked by the "antiques" and hearing such a thing, Ms. T. seemed to be lost in the trance of what Binh had drawn.

Binh offered 15 million VND for each person to be "uncursed", Ms. T's family of 5 would have to pay 75 million VND. And Binh asked for an additional 30 million VND for the cost of entering the Tay Ninh Holy See to hold the ceremony. In total, Ms. T. gave Binh 105 million VND.

A month after being convinced that the “curse” had been lifted, Ms. T. sold the gold that was supposed to be in the ancient porcelain jar, only to find out that it was fake gold. Realizing that she had been tricked into finding a “fake” fortune teller, after much pressure, Binh paid Ms. T. 75 million VND.

“I don’t know why, but when I heard Mr. Binh speak, I felt like I had been under a spell. After reading the news about the fortune teller scam in Nghe An Newspaper, my family recognized the fortune teller as an acquaintance, so we quickly went to the police to report it, hoping to get back the money we had been scammed.Ms. NTT presented.

Continuing in April 2018, with the same trick of reading family affairs, Binh continued to defraud Mrs. VTT's family (residing in Khai Son commune, Do Luong district) of 300 million VND. Accordingly, after performing a "magic trick", Binh made up a creepy story that Mrs. T's daughter-in-law was possessed by her recently deceased grandmother.

After hearing Binh's judgment, Mrs. T's family was shocked and followed all of Binh's requests. At the investigation agency, Binh stated that after being discovered, he paid Mrs. T's family 170 million VND.

Receiving the people's report, Do Luong District Police are currently working with the victims and conducting verification and investigation to clarify the matter.

Previously, as reported by Nghe An Newspaper, Do Luong District Police had clarified that Nguyen Thanh Binh had defrauded other victims of a total of nearly 600 million VND. The Investigation Police Agency (Do Luong District Police) issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Nguyen Thanh Binh (born in 1959, residing in Cong Thanh Commune, Yen Thanh District) for fraud and appropriation of property.

Do Luong District Police announced that if anyone is a victim of Nguyen Thanh Binh, they need to file a complaint so that the authorities can handle the subject according to the law.
