Russia produces new artillery shells for tanks
(Baonghean.vn) - A Russian company has manufactured a new artillery shell for T-72 and T-90 Mango-M tanks and is expected to introduce it at the Army-2019 International Military Technical Forum, held at Patriot Park on the outskirts of Moscow from June 25-30.

"The new 125mm caliber artillery shell is intended for firing at armored targets such as tanks, including highly protected ones, self-propelled guns and emplacements, and is intended for firing from smoothbore tank guns D-81 (2A26, 2A46M)," Techmash said in a statement.
According to the statement of Mr. Sergey Abramov- Director of Rostec, these are the latest models of artillery shells, the armor penetration rate increased by more than 20%. If a conventional shot penetrates 230 mm of obstacles, then this figure is 280 mm for Mango-M and 300 mm for “Capture-2”.
Mr. Abramov pointed out that improving the technical characteristics of the bullets ensures damage to almost all armor and potential enemy military equipment more than 2 km away.
According to Techmash General Director Vladimir Lepin, Mango-M is an export-oriented ammunition. One of its main advantages is full compatibility with the automatic loading of the guns of T-72 and T-90 tanks without requiring structural changes.
