A 9X youth in Nghe An has 3 criminal records, recidivists and receives 5 years in prison for illegal possession of drugs

(Baonghean.vn) - Having not yet had his three criminal records for theft cleared, the 9X youth committed another crime of illegal possession of drugs and was prosecuted before the law.

On the morning of June 24, at the hall of the People's Committee of Quynh Phuong Ward, the People's Court of Hoang Mai Town opened a mobile trial to try the case of illegal possession of drugs against defendant Tran Doan Vinh (born in 1990), residing in Hamlet 14, Quynh Van Commune, Quynh Luu District.

According to the indictment, on March 20, 2018, Tran Doan Vinh called Le Huu Duc, residing in block 9, Quynh Xuan ward, Hoang Mai town, to buy drugs. Duc then drove Vinh to Quynh Trang commune to buy drugs.

During the trip, Vinh gave Duc 200,000 VND to buy drugs. Then, both of them went to a pharmacy in block 10, Mai Hung ward, Hoang Mai town to buy syringes. While Duc went into the pharmacy, Vinh was waiting outside and was caught red-handed by the Hoang Mai town police task force with evidence in his hand, a package of drugs (heroine) weighing 0.27 grams.

Previously, in the 3 years from 2015-2017, Vinh was sentenced to 6 months, 7 months and 12 months in prison by the People's Court of Quynh Luu district and the People's Court of Hoang Mai town, respectively, for theft of property and his criminal record has not been cleared.

For the crime of "Illegal possession of narcotics" while his criminal record had not been cleared, Tran Doan Vinh was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the People's Court of Hoang Mai town.
