Choose the field to break through and increase growth

At the meeting of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee on the afternoon of June 26, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered a concluding speech, stating that among the 27 targets assigned by the Provincial People's Council, there were 10 economic targets. Although efforts were made from the beginning of the year in directing and operating, assigning tasks early, developing specific plans, consulting with sectors, closely following and directing resolutely, there are still some targets that the Provincial People's Committee is very concerned about.

In the first 6 months of the year, the growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) reached 7.09% over the same period. Estimated budget revenue was 7,180 billion VND, reaching 53.2% of the estimate, up 17.6% over the same period. Estimated budget expenditure was 12,216.7 billion VND, reaching 50.2% of the estimate. The agricultural sector is expected to grow by 4.03%, not reaching the plan of 5.09%. The industrial production development index increased by 8.6% over the same period, showing signs of slowing down. Service revenue increased by 12.77%...

In that situation, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized the tasks and short-term solutions that need to be focused on and implemented in the last 6 months of the year. Specifically, the agricultural sector needs to make efforts to fight drought, prevent forest fires, and produce well in the summer-autumn crop to maintain growth.

Although forestry and fishery only contribute 20% of total agricultural output, it is necessary to identify these as areas that need to be focused on and make breakthroughs to increase the overall growth of the agricultural sector.

Besides, to achieve the growth scenario, it is necessary to effectively prevent African swine fever, limit damage to the population, total herd loss, and stabilize the situation.

Paying special attention to this issue, comrade Thai Thanh Quy reiterated the results of a surprise inspection of the epidemic prevention situation in a number of localities across the province, emphasizing that although resources have been fully provided, due to different methods and approaches in many places, the results are also different.

Citing a specific example in Hamlet 6, Dien Xuan Commune, where the epidemic broke out in mid-May but new outbreaks have appeared so far, the head of the Provincial People's Committee criticized the locality's management methods and uncertain grasp of the area.

“The village does not know who is coming in and out, or where they are doing business, which shows that the way the epidemic prevention work is implemented is problematic. Meanwhile, in some other places, they have a very good grasp, they know who often goes to trade and sell in the market area, and they go to their houses to guide them on how to handle their clothes and vehicles...” - the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted.

Closely follow the progress of attracting and implementing investment projects

Regarding the industrial sector, in addition to the contents directed by the Provincial Party Secretary, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy noted that the Department of Industry and Trade needs to stick to the group of 15 products with the potential for stable growth, evaluate and choose positive solutions so that this group in the last 6 months of the year will increase or at least not decrease growth.

Regarding the field of investment attraction, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Investment Promotion Center to provide full information on the list of investment attraction projects at each monthly meeting of the Provincial People's Committee so that delegates attending the meeting can review and monitor progress.

Along with that, in order to remove difficulties for industrial parks such as Hemaraj, VSIP, Hoang Thinh Dat, the province will establish a working group to support the activities of industrial parks in site clearance, infrastructure construction,... creating favorable conditions to anticipate and implement projects such as the automobile project in Hoang Mai, the cold-rolled steel project in Hemaraj Industrial Park, the textile project in VSIP, the project of manufacturing auxiliary equipment for Apple,...

Reaffirming his views on public investment, comrade Thai Thanh Quy said that in the coming period, the focus will be on the Southeast Economic Zone and key projects - places that act as driving forces to stimulate demand, creating conditions for allocation and investment in other areas.

"Previously, investment was spread out a little bit in each place, leading to the fact that currently there is nothing outstanding in each place. So in the coming time, we need to think about public investment in the direction of investing to make a profit," he said.
