Training to improve sustainable forest management in localities

(Baonghean.vn) - This is the content thoroughly grasped at the training session on Professional Skills and implementation of new Forestry Circulars in 2019 held in Vinh City on the morning of June 27.

Attending the training course were representatives of the General Department of Forestry, the Forest Protection Department, leaders of Nghe An Forest Protection Sub-Department and 130 trainees who are officers of specialized departments of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, representatives of the Department of Agriculture in districts, towns and affiliated forest management units.

The purpose of the training course is to help localities and forest management units in the province understand the new Circulars on the Forestry sector to deploy and apply them well at the grassroots level, helping to make forest management more sustainable.

During the 2-day training, the trainees will be presented with 3 new Circulars related to the Forestry sector by experts from the General Department of Forestry and the Forest Protection Department.

Including Circular 28/2018 on Regulations on Sustainable Forest Management; Circular 30/2018 on Regulations on the list of main forestry plant species, recognition of varieties and seed sources, management of main forestry plant seed materials; Circular 33/2018 on Regulations on Investigation, inventory and monitoring of forest changes.

Mr. Dang Xuan Minh - Deputy Head of the Forest Protection Department emphasized: These are 3 important Circulars that are currently being implemented, but there are still confusion and problems in the issue of seed management, in the implementation of sustainable forest management plans and in the inventory and monitoring of forest resource changes. Therefore, students are required to seriously study to implement them well at the grassroots level.

On the first day, the trainees will be lectured by Mr. Pham Van Hanh, representative of the Department of Production Development - General Department of Forestry on Circular 28/2018/TT-BNNPTNT on Regulations on Sustainable Forest Management.

This is the peak of the heat wave, the risk of forest fires is high, therefore the leaders of the Forest Protection Department require the subordinate units, in addition to clearly understanding the Circulars to implement well at the base, to raise vigilance, assign people to be on duty 24/24 at the locations to prevent the risk of forest fires.
