Yen Thanh has 28 communes with African swine fever
(Baonghean.vn) - The latest commune in Yen Thanh district to have pigs testing positive for African swine fever is Tan Thanh commune.
On the morning of June 28, Tan Thanh commune authorities and Yen Thanh district veterinary agency destroyed 20 pigs, with a total weight of 700 kg, belonging to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoat's family, Tan Trung hamlet, Tan Thanh commune (Yen Thanh).

Previously, according to information from the Veterinary Department of Region III, on June 27, test samples from Tan Thanh commune tested positive for African swine fever.

After receiving the results of the test samples positive for African swine fever, in addition to organizing the destruction of pigs, the commune set up 2 epidemic control checkpoints; organized disinfection spraying in the market area, food trading points, and livestock barns. From the morning of June 28, the transportation, slaughtering, and trading of pork in the commune was temporarily banned.
Also on June 27, there were 5 samples positive for African swine fever in 5 communes and wards that previously had the epidemic, including: Quynh Xuan Ward (Hoang Mai town), Dien Hanh Commune (Dien Chau), Van Thanh Commune (Yen Thanh), Huu Lap Commune and Chieu Luu Commune (Ky Son).
Thus, by June 28, in Yen Thanh district, there were 28 communes that tested positive for African swine fever. Among them, many communes continuously had new outbreaks: Phuc Thanh, Hau Thanh, Van Thanh, Nhan Thanh.
