American singer donates 3-year-old son's organs

Country singer Granger Smith has decided to donate his organs after his youngest son River Kelly Smith died in a drowning accident.

On June 6, American country music singers Granger Smith and Amber Smith shared information about their 3-year-old youngest son who recently passed away in a drowning accident at home.

"We lost our child forever after an unfortunate accident despite the doctors' best efforts. River could not stay," said Granger Smith.

"This is a difficult time for our family. My heart is broken. But I feel more comforted knowing that my son is in a peaceful place. I believe that his bright light will always be in my heart," said Amber, River's mother.

Many relatives, friends and fans have sent their condolences and encouragement to the Granger and Amber family during this extremely difficult time. Everyone was moved and admired the humane act of Granger and Amber when donating their child's organs.

On June 25, the couple returned to the hospital where their son was treated before he died to do charity work. They gave a gift of nearly $300,000 to thank the doctors who cared for River and to help those in need.

"Our son received the best care from the doctors and the hospital. My family is very comfortable and at peace. I pray that no one else has to go through what we went through," said Amber.
