...Today, I am very pleased to attend the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Nghe An province, term 2019 - 2024. On behalf of the provincial leaders, I warmly welcome the delegates, distinguished guests and 321 delegates, representing the great solidarity and unity of will of the ethnic groups, religions, components and classes of people of the province who have gathered here to attend the Congress.
Through the delegates and comrades, I would like to send to all the people in the province, Nghe An people outside the province and abroad my deep feelings, sincere greetings, and best wishes.

Over the past 5 years, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has made efforts to overcome difficulties, continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, well perform its functions and tasks; mobilize all classes of people in the province to promote the strength of the great national unity bloc, successfully implement the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels and the Resolution of the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The role of the provincial Fatherland Front has been actively and comprehensively demonstrated. The great national unity bloc of the province continues to be expanded and consolidated, social consensus is enhanced; the material and spiritual life of the people is improved; creating a solid foundation for political stability and economic development of the province.

Dear delegates!
50 years ago, in his last letter to the Party Committee and people of Nghe An province, Uncle Ho advised: We must practice democracy well; focus on economic development, soon make Nghe An one of the best provinces in the North; take care of people's lives...
Over the years, his instructions remain valuable, associated with the implementation of the Party's Resolutions and the orientations of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; I would like to draw the attention of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations to the following issues.
The first,Unity is the strength of the entire nation. Building a bloc of unity and solidarity is the foundation for development; promoting hunger eradication and poverty reduction, promoting the spirit of mutual love and mutual assistance in times of difficulty. The provincial Fatherland Front must lead the task of building a great national unity bloc under the leadership of the Party.
The Front must truly be a common home for all classes of people, all ethnicities, religions, all ages and Nghe An people to promote their patriotism, will and intelligence to build and protect their homeland and country.
In the spirit of promoting similarities, eliminating inferiority complex, prejudice, discrimination, building a spirit of openness, mutual trust, implementing social justice and equality, taking care of the practical and legitimate interests of the people to continue to consolidate and expand the truly strong and profound great national solidarity bloc.

Monday,The Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations need to continue to play a core role in mobilizing and organizing the widespread and effective implementation of patriotic emulation movements.
Discuss and develop action programs and work tasks closely following the goals of socio-economic development; ensuring national defense and security; ensuring social security; eliminating hunger and reducing poverty; building the Party and the political system as set forth in the Resolutions of Party Congresses at all levels.
The content and methods of operation must be practical, close to the people, enhance dialogue, and focus on the grassroots and residential areas. Promote the role of self-governing communities in villages, hamlets, and residential groups, and operate on the basis of village conventions and regulations in accordance with the law.

Tuesday,The Fatherland Front and its member organizations at all levels need to enhance their responsibility and effectiveness in social supervision and criticism. Actively build a strong Front system, participate in building the political system at the grassroots level; pay attention to consolidating and improving the quality of activities of the Front Work Committee in residential areas; act as a bridge between Party committees, authorities and people; promote democracy at the grassroots level; guide people in supervision and criticism.
At the same time, we need to take care of building a team of Front officials with qualities, capacity, experience in mass mobilization and practical experience; expand the team of collaborators; improve the quality of activities of councils, boards, and advisory groups; and gather a wide range of scientists, experts, and prestigious people to perform their tasks well.

Wednesday,It is recommended that Party committees, authorities, departments, branches, sectors, and agencies in the political system continue to coordinate more closely with the Front; deeply understand the position, role, functions, and tasks of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the new period; at the same time, lead, direct, coordinate, and create conditions for the Fatherland Front to perform its tasks well. Pay real attention to the policy of cadres working for the Front and mass organizations, especially at the grassroots and in residential areas, in order to strengthen the great national unity bloc and improve the quality of the Front's work in the new situation.
The 14th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Nghe An province took place at a time when many major national holidays were being celebrated, especially the 50th anniversary of implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Testament and the 50th anniversary of his last letter to the Party Committee and people of Nghe An.
With new determination and new spirit, the Party Committee, government and people of the province believe that the provincial Fatherland Front will have many creative and effective activities, contributing to gathering more and more people from all walks of life in the great national unity bloc, strengthening the close relationship between the people and the Party and the government, creating great strength to build Nghe An homeland to soon become the most prosperous province in the country as Uncle Ho always wished.
