Coach Duc Thang says goodbye to Thanh Hoa Club
The 43-year-old coach suddenly resigned after a 1-2 defeat to Hai Phong in the 1/8 round of the National Cup.

On the morning of July 1, Coach Nguyen Duc Thang confirmed his departure from Thanh Hoa Club. The 43-year-old coach proactively asked to resign and was accepted by the Thanh team's leadership. However, the former The Cong player did not reveal the reason for this decision.
Coach Duc Thang’s sudden departure left many Thanh Hoa fans shocked and regretful. Although the Thanh team was eliminated from the 2019 National Cup after a 1-2 defeat to Hai Phong, it is undeniable that Coach Duc Thang has made great contributions to Thanh Hoa football over the past year.
In the 2018 season, coach Duc Thang led Thanh Hoa to win the V-League runner-up position and reach the National Cup final. This season, Thanh Hoa faced many financial difficulties and a loss of force when many stars left. Under the leadership of coach Duc Thang, Thanh Hoa rose from the bottom of the table to 5th place in the V-League 2019 after the first leg ended.
Currently, the new destination of coach Duc Thang has not been revealed. Thanh Hoa has not announced the identity of the person sitting in the hot seat of the club. On the afternoon of July 7, Thanh Hoa will visit Khanh Hoa in round 14 of V-League 2019.
