(Baonghean.vn) - After many days of waiting, last night (July 5), Phan Van Duc successfully completed the surgery.

Phan Van Duc's surgeon is Mr. Lim Tan Jee, a sports doctor considered the best in Singapore, the top in Southeast Asia, and has helped many Vietnamese players treat injuries.

Dr. Lee also works with the Singapore Football Federation and takes care of the national team of the lion island. Previously, this doctor was also the one who successfully performed surgery on the ligament injury of center back Dinh Trong.

On his personal page, after the successful surgery, Phan Van Duc optimistically shared: “Iron man Duc Cot is preparing to fly back to Vietnam with his friends. I thought the surgery would be terrible, but it turns out it's not as scary as motion sickness. After a nap, I woke up and saw that I'm handsome and stylish like this. Thank you to the doctors, parents, club, coaching board and everyone who has always supported and encouraged Duc during the past time. Duc will come back as strong as possible."

As expected, Phan Van Duc will not return to Nghe An immediately but will return to the PVF center to continue monitoring the recovery and treatment process. This process will likely last until the end of 2019, meaning that the midfielder from Yen Thanh will miss the return leg of the V.League and the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Asia taking place this September.

Hopefully, Phan Van Duc will quickly recover and regain his form to soon return to contribute to SLNA as well as return to his role as a card in the hands of coach Park Hang-seo in the national team.
