Nghe An confirms natural disaster caused by heat wave
(Baonghean.vn) - According to regulations, the confirmation of natural disasters by the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue is the basis for implementing agricultural production support policies to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters and epidemics.
From June 4 to 30, Nghe An province experienced severe heat, some places were especially severe, lasting with high temperatures commonly reaching 37-40 degrees Celsius.oC, some places over 41oC, water levels on river banks, streams and reservoirs are low, many lakes have dried up.

Pursuant to State regulations, considering the request of the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue, on July 9, 2019, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of Nghe An province issued an Official Dispatch confirming natural disasters caused by heat waves occurring in Nghe An province, from June 4 to 30.

People's Committees of districts, cities and towns affected by natural disasters and relevant units, based on the Government's decree and other relevant documents, focus on directing the overcoming of natural disaster consequences; allocate district-level budget reserves to promptly support the restoration of agricultural production in the area.

At the same time, review and count crop damage caused by heat in the area, report to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Finance and the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue to advise the Provincial People's Committee to support disaster recovery according to current regulations.
