Free 'Smile Surgery' for Children; Student Volunteers on 'Journey of Love'
(Baonghean.vn) - 200 children with cleft lip and cleft palate will be screened and it is expected that half of them will receive free surgery to regain their full smiles. Meanwhile, in the localities, student volunteers are actively participating in the "Journey of Love".

It is known that from July 13 to July 19, 2019, about 200 children with disabilities (cleft lip, cleft palate) will be screened by doctors and experts from Korea. It is expected that 100 children will receive free surgery to "revive" their smiles; helping them confidently integrate into life.

Currently, Nghe An has about 12,000 children with disabilities who need support and help from philanthropists to continue their dreams. The meaningful journey to find children's smiles in Nghe An has entered its fourth year, a practical humanitarian charity program that has contributed to providing free surgery opportunities for more than 1,000 children with cleft lip and cleft palate in districts, cities and towns in the province.

Tao Son is a purely agricultural commune at the eastern gateway of Anh Son district, with many economic difficulties. On this occasion, the Green Journey youth volunteer team, consisting of 15 volunteers, students and young people inside and outside the province, returned to the locality to carry out the 2019 summer volunteer plan.
As soon as they arrived at Cao Son, the team started cleaning the environment and building concrete roads...
After 8 days of operation (from July 5 to 13), the Youth Union team closely coordinated with local youth to complete more than 500 meters of concrete road in the area of Tao Son Secondary School, followed by repairing and patching the damaged school yard.
Returning to the hamlets, the Youth Union team also organizes environmental sanitation, collects waste, propagates people not to use plastic bags; organizes games, cultural exchanges, teaches singing and dancing to children...
