(Baonghean.vn) - The heat wave shows no signs of ending in many places in the North, while it will last for many more days in the Central region.

On July 14, due to the influence of the low pressure area in the West with the Southwest wind causing the foehn effect, Hoa Binh, the Northern Delta and midlands will have hot weather with the highest temperature commonly ranging from 35-37 degrees, in some places above 37 degrees.

The Central provinces continue to be hot and extremely hot, with some places experiencing particularly severe heat, with the highest temperatures commonly ranging from 35-38 degrees Celsius, even over 39 degrees Celsius. Temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius are from 11am to 5pm.

This heat wave in the Northern Delta and midland provinces may last until around July 16-17, while the heat wave in the Central region is likely to last for many days to come. The UV index in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City is at a very high level that is harmful to the human body.

Tonight, the mountainous areas of the North will have showers and thunderstorms. The provinces of Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, and Cao Bang are likely to have heavy to very heavy rain (common rainfall 30-60mm/12 hours, some places over 80mm/12 hours). During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

In the Northeast, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms at night, and scattered showers and thunderstorms in mountainous areas, with some moderate to heavy rain. During the day, it will be sunny and hot in the plains and midlands with temperatures ranging from 31 to 34 degrees Celsius, in the plains and midlands from 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, and in some places above 37 degrees Celsius.

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue provinces are hot and very hot during the day. The afternoon temperature is around 36 - 39 degrees.
