Trial of 'pimp' who brokered beauty pageant runner-up to sell sex for thousands of dollars
After negotiating with the beauties, Du raised the price of prostitution to thousands of dollars to take advantage of the difference from the tycoons.
On July 15, Ho Chi Minh City People's Court tried Kieu Dai Du (23 years old, from Binh Dinh) for the crime ofProstitution brokeraccording to Article 328 of the 2015 Penal Code.
According to the case file, when he was an environmental student in Saigon, Du often participated in prostitution forums. After graduating, he worked as a restaurant manager in District 12, and at the same time created a website specializing in posting pornographic films and "call girls" and inviting businessmen and rich people to use the service of "confidentially confiding in beauties".

On August 22, 2018, Du was offered by two tycoons to provide beautiful women. He contacted the two "long legs" and they agreed to pay 3-6 million VND each. The "pimp" agreed that after selling sex, he would transfer money into the girls' accounts. Du then raised the price to 7-12 million VND for each session and then reported it to the customers to get the difference.
By the end of the month, two other businessmen asked Du to find beautiful women to serve them. Du contacted a female TV host and a beauty queen, and they agreed to "go out with clients" for 600-5,000 USD each. Knowing that these rich men were willing to spend, Du raised the price to 1,500 USD and 7,000 USD.
On the afternoon of August 30, 2018, after receiving money from 4 tycoons, Du sent the "long-legged" girls to a hotel on Tran Hung Dao and Nam Quoc Cang streets (District 1) to serve them, but was discovered by the police.

The investigation agency determined that in this prostitution brokerage, Du earned 3,400 USD. Previously, Du had brokered these beauties to sell sex to customers many times, earning 19 million VND.
In addition, Du admitted that since September 2017, he has also brokered many other prostitutes online, each time earning at least 1 million VND.
Du stated that when he brokered prostitution for the MC and the runner-up, he was introduced by another person with a zalo account named Thanhthanh, Baobao. However, during the investigation, the authorities could not prove that this person had brokered prostitution with Du, so there was no basis for prosecution.
