At 6:30 p.m. on July 15, some fishermen at Tien Thuy fishing port (Quynh Luu) were having dinner when they saw smoke rising and a burning smell coming from the boat of Mr. Ho Van Nghia, Village 3, Quynh Nghia commune.
The fire quickly spread, engulfing the ship with registration number NA90614TS.
People shouted and reported to the authorities. Hundreds of people were present to put out the fire.
Fire police were also present at the scene.
However, the ship contained oil and many flammable fishing gears, causing the fire to spread quickly and rise high, making it very difficult to control.
Many fishing boat owners rushed to leave the port for fear of the fire spreading.

This was a 400CV fishing boat, specializing in offshore fishing, and was returning for a vacation. The cause of the fire is being investigated by authorities.
