Man died on Ke Go Lake

Mr. Quyen in Ha Tinh province was drowned in Ke Go lake after slipping into a deep puddle. His body was found this afternoon.

Mr. Le Manh Hung - Deputy Chief of Police of Cam My Commune (Cam Xuyen District, Ha Tinh) said that at about 3:00 a.m. on July 21, Mr. Tran Hau Quyen (45 years old, residing in village 2) and some friends went to Ke Go Lake to cast nets to catch fish.

"While casting the net, Mr. Quyen slipped into a deep puddle and was drowned. The people who were with him heard his cries for help and came to his aid, but it was too late," Mr. Hung said, adding that at 11:30 a.m. the same day, the victim's body was found about 150 meters from shore.

Currently, Mr. Hung's body has been handed over to his relatives for burial.

According to authorities, there has long been a ban on fishing in Ke Go Lake, but many local people still venture into the lake to fish despite the danger.
