(Baonghean.vn) - Thousands of people came to the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery (Anh Son district) to light candles and burn incense at the graves of heroes and martyrs to express their deep respect and gratitude.

As part of the “Drinking Water, Remembering Its Source” Festival, the Candle Lighting Ceremony and Incense Offering Ceremony took place on the evening of July 26 to express deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland and the noble international duty, affirming the morality of “Repaying gratitude” of the Vietnamese people. |

The Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery is located in Anh Son town, Anh Son district (Nghe An) with an area of over 7 hectares, where nearly 11,000 graves of Vietnamese officers, volunteer soldiers and experts who died on the battlefields of Laos are gathered. The cemetery was built in 1976. In 1982, the Party and State decided to bring all the remains of martyrs who died in Laos back to Vietnam and bury them at the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery.
