Nam Dan has a new outbreak of swine fever after 40 days of declaring the epidemic over
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of August 5, the People's Committee of Nam Dan district issued a decision to declare an outbreak of African swine fever in Nam Cat commune. Thus, after declaring the end of African swine fever on June 26, Nam Dan district experienced another outbreak.
African swine fever appeared in Mr. Hoang Dang Mien's family, Tho Moi hamlet, Nam Cat commune with 4 sows and 8 pigs.
On August 3, after discovering a sow that had stopped eating and died on August 4, the family reported it to the local authorities of Nam Cat commune. On the same day, the veterinary unit took samples and sent them for testing for African swine fever. The test results showed that the pig that died at Mr. Mien's house was positive for African swine fever.

By the morning of August 6, in Tho Moi hamlet, Nam Cat commune, 2 pig farming households tested positive for African swine fever, with a total of 30 pigs weighing 1,165 kg.
Nam Cat is an area adjacent to Hamlet 1, Hung Dao Commune, Hung Nguyen District - a locality currently experiencing African swine fever.

In that situation, on the afternoon of August 5, the People's Committee of Nam Dan district issued a decision to announce the African swine fever epidemic in Nam Cat commune; at the same time, issued an urgent dispatch on urgent implementation of measures to prevent and control African swine fever, requesting the temporary suspension of slaughtering and transporting pigs and pig products in Nam Cat out of the commune.
The District People's Committee also requested relevant departments, agencies and localities to synchronously deploy urgent solutions to control and prevent African swine fever from spreading in the area, paying special attention to the threatened areas including 3 communes: Nam Giang, Xuan Lam and Kim Lien./.
