Apitchaya passed away in pain on July 30, just three days after being bitten by a mosquito.
Previously, Apitchaya Jareondee (25 years old), a flight attendant of Thai Lion Air, was taken to the hospital by her family because of a high fever and severe headache. Doctors at Lanna Hospital, Chiangmai, diagnosed the 25-year-old flight attendant with dengue fever. Apitchaya was advised to check her blood every day.
However, her condition worsened as she developed an infection, causing shock, internal bleeding and organ failure. Her body was later returned to her hometown in Nan Province for burial.
After Apitchaya's death, a relative, Surin Jareondee, said the family quickly took measures to prevent the disease by staying indoors more and closing the windows.
It's rainy season and also "mosquito season" in Thailand.
