Arrested gambling group in livestock farm

(Baonghean.vn) - Taking advantage of the livestock farm being far from residential areas, a group of people gathered here to gamble. However, while they were engrossed in gambling, they were arrested by the police.

On August 6, the Nghi Loc District Police Department announced that the unit is temporarily detaining: Nguyen Van Phuong (born 1983), Nguyen Duy Hieu (born 1989) from Nghi Cong Nam commune, Pham Van Tan (born 1983), Le Van Hieu (born 1989) both residing in Nghi Cong Bac commune and Dinh Bat Sao (born 1976) residing in hamlet 3, Nghi Cong Nam commune to investigate and clarify the acts of gambling and assisting in gambling.

At 7:00 p.m. on July 31, the Working Group of the Criminal Investigation Police Team on Criminal - Economic - Drug Crimes of Nghi Loc District Police coordinated with Working Group No. 1 of this unit to patrol in Hamlet 3, Nghi Cong Nam Commune. Here, the patrol team discovered a group of people gambling in the livestock farm of Mr. Dinh Bat Sao.

The police secretly raided and caught four subjects, including Nguyen Van Phuong, Pham Van Tan, Nguyen Duy Hieu and Le Van Hieu, gambling for money using 3-card poker. Evidence seized at the scene included 34.15 million VND that the subjects used for gambling, 01 deck of cards, 04 mobile phones.

All four subjects are freelancers with unstable incomes but are addicted to gambling. Nguyen Van Phuong is serving a 7-month suspended sentence and 14-month probation for gambling. The owner of the livestock farm, Dinh Bat Sao, as an accomplice, allowed the group to gamble on the farm, so he was also arrested and detained under Clause 3, Article 17 of the 2015 Penal Code.

Currently, the investigation agency is consolidating the case file to prosecute the case and prosecute the accused according to regulations.
