Teach children escape skills when alone in a car
(Baonghean.vn) - Through the recent tragic incident of a primary school student in Hanoi who died because he was forgotten by his teacher on the school bus, parents should teach their children some escape skills in case they are forgotten on the bus. Children from 3 years old and up can perceive and do this.

Heartbreaking story of first grader dying after being left in car
After being forgotten in a bus to Gateway School (Hanoi) for 9 hours, on the afternoon of August 6, Le Hoang Long, a first grader for only two days, died.
In fact, when the car doors are closed and the air conditioner is not turned on, in a very short time the car will experience a lack of oxygen and lead to deep coma and death.
Therefore, from a young age, parents need to equip their children with the necessary skills to escape when using a family car or school bus:
1. Car horn:Show your child how to honk the car horn. Even if the car is turned off and the ignition is unplugged, the horn will still work because it uses direct power from the battery. Teach your child, if left in the car, to get behind the wheel and honk the horn. With a battery, the horn can be honked all day long. Making noise will attract attention.
2. Hazard lights:Similar to the horn, the Hazard light has its own power source so that it is always ready to operate. Show your child the button to turn on this light. It is shaped like a triangle and is easily visible on the cockpit dashboard. Press it to turn it on to attract attention, combined with the horn.

3. Unlock lever from inside:Cars are designed with a door release lever on the inside of each door. Take a moment to teach your child how to use this lever to open the door in case of emergency.
4. Escape hammer:Most school buses have an emergency hammer. In case of emergency, your children can use the emergency hammer. Rest assured, the emergency hammer is designed to have a sharp tip that concentrates force, so with a little force, your child can break the glass, without too much effort.
On the other hand, car windows are always designed as safety glass, so when broken, the glass will shatter into corn-like pieces, without sharp pieces, so you can rest assured that it will not harm your children.
5 - Find ways to contact the outside:Nowadays, many parents equip their children with mobile devices and smart watches. Therefore, teach your children the skills to contact their parents or outsiders to seek help. In addition to phone numbers saved directly on the phone, parents also need to teach their children to call the police and ambulance numbers when encountering an accident.
