Agree on 8 key solutions to reduce traffic accidents

That was the statement of comrade Khuat Viet Hung - Vice Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee at the training conference to improve the effectiveness of the Office of Traffic Safety Committee of provinces and centrally run cities held on the morning of August 9 in Cua Lo town.

Conference overview.

At the conference, delegates were informed of newly issued legal documents on traffic safety; policies and campaigns to ensure traffic safety in 2019 of the National Traffic Safety Committee.

Discussing at the conference, delegates focused on clarifying the main causes of traffic accidents and agreed on 8 key solutions to reduce traffic accidents, which are: perfecting the legal system; improving the effectiveness of propaganda work; improving the capacity and effectiveness of patrol, control and handling of traffic safety violations; improving the quality of traffic infrastructure; promoting the restructuring of transport services; applying information technology; limiting the use of personal motor vehicles; strictly managing construction activities in urban areas in accordance with the capacity and structure of traffic infrastructure and public transport.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy emphasized: Nghe An always identifies traffic safety as a key political task and resolutely, synchronously and comprehensively deploys many solutions to curb traffic accidents, in which the advisory work of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee Office plays an important role, contributing to continuously reducing traffic accidents on all three criteria.

Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province spoke at the conference.

The Provincial Chairman also emphasized that the training conference is a good opportunity for officers of the Traffic Safety Committee Office of Nghe An province in particular and the whole country in general to exchange, learn experiences, update new knowledge and skills, contributing to improving the effectiveness of consulting work and implementing tasks to ensure traffic order and safety in the coming time.
