SLNA: Only Tran Nguyen Manh is on the preliminary training list of Coach Park Hang-seo

(Baonghean.vn) - This afternoon, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced the list of 25 players called up to the national team to prepare for the 2020 World Cup qualifiers. SLNA only had one name called up, captain goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh.

In the preliminary list announced, in the goalkeeper position, besides the captain of SLNA, only Dang Van Lam, who is playing at Muangthong United (Thailand), was called. The long-awaited overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper, Filip Nguyen, was not included in this training session because he had not completed the procedures for obtaining Vietnamese citizenship.

Due to consecutive injuries, Xuan Manh could not be on the list of players to be trained this time. In the defense, in addition to familiar names such as Que Ngoc Hai, Bui Tien Dung, Doan Van Hau, Do Duy Manh, Hong Duy or Vu Van Thanh, Tan Sinh, Thanh Chung, Van Kien were also on the list.

As for Trong Hoang, coach Park Hang-seo still put his name in to wait for the Nghe An player. In case Trong Hoang does not recover from his injury in time, he will keep another player in the same position or call him up as an additional player.

There were not many surprises in the midfield when Quang Hai, Duc Huy, Hung Dung, Xuan Truong and Tuan Anh were selected. Names like Khac Ngoc and Van Thuan, although expected a lot because of their good performance in V.League, could not catch the eye of the Korean coach and the coaching staff of the Vietnam national team.

In the attacking positions, the experience and unstable performance of the next generation has made the two veterans Van Quyet and Anh Duc return once again. Van Toan, Cong Phuong, Ha Duc Chinh and Tien Linh are other familiar names in the attacking line, along with two new faces, Ngan Van Dai and Ha Minh Tuan.

The unfortunate case in the attack is Ho Tuan Tai, with his recent stable scoring form, but he has not been able to compete with more experienced strikers and is suitable for the playing style that coach Park Hang-seo has built.
