Que Phong implements plan to merge Que Son and Muong Noc communes, expanding the town
(Baonghean.vn) - After merging Muong Noc and Tien Phong communes, Kim Son town will have an area of 23.44 km2, with a population of 9,075 people.
On the morning of August 26, the People's Council of Que Phong district, term XVIII, held an extraordinary meeting to listen to, give opinions and agree to adjust the administrative boundaries of Tien Phong and Muong Noc communes to expand Kim Son town; merge Que Son commune and Muong Noc commune.
The People's Council of Que Phong district unanimously approved the plan to rearrange the commune-level administrative units in the area. Specifically: Kim Son town will have its administrative boundaries expanded by merging 11/16 villages of Muong Noc commune and 2 villages of Tien Phong commune. The area after adjustment is 23.44km².

The natural area of the villages: Han, Cang, Don, Tam, Pa Nat, Long Khong, Na Pu, Pa Ca, Co Nong, Cay Dua hamlet, part of Na Nga village in Muong Noc commune merged into Kim Son town is 20km².
The area of Bon village and part of Tang village in Tien Phong commune merged into Kim Son town is 1.98km². The population size after adjustment and expansion is 9,075 people.

The remaining 5 villages of Muong Noc commune are: Luong, Na Phi, Don Cham, Na Phay, Muong Mung and a part of Na Nga village will be merged into Que Son commune. After the merger, it will create an administrative unit with an area of 48.42km², a population of 6,435 people with the official name of Muong Noc commune.
