(Baonghean.vn) - On the way out, seeing Vinh's house closed, knowing no one was home, Ha had the idea of breaking into the house to steal property.

On the afternoon of August 27, Tan Ky District People's Court tried the criminal case against Ta Ngoc Ha (born 1986), residing in Nghia Dong commune, Tan Ky district, for the crime of "Theft of property".

At around 4:00 p.m. on June 11, 2019, Ha went out to Duc Thinh hamlet, Tan Phu commune, Tan Ky district. When passing by Nguyen Duy Vinh's house, seeing that the house was closed, knowing that no one was home, Ha had the idea of breaking into Vinh's house to steal property.

Ha went from outside into the house, saw the side door of the house was bolted horizontally with a wooden bar, so Ha broke the bolt and entered Vinh's family bedroom, discovered a black Dell laptop on the desk, Ha stole the laptop and put it in a black bag right on the desk.

After stealing the computer, Ha brought it to the computer repair shop of Mr. Hoang Viet H (born in 1983) in Tan Thai hamlet, Tan Phu commune and asked, "Do you accept pawning this computer?" Mr. H checked the computer and said, "It doesn't have a battery and this type of battery is expensive." Ha continued to ask, "Will you buy it?" Mr. H answered, "No" and directed Ta Ngoc Ha to the pawn shop next door to pawn it.

Ta Ngoc Ha brought the computer to the pawn shop next door, met the owner, Ms. T, and said, "I have my wife's computer that I don't use. I need money. Please give it to me for a week and I'll redeem it." Ms. T looked at the computer and said to Ha, "I can't check this computer because it doesn't have a battery, so I can't pawn it."

At that moment, Mr. H came in from outside and heard Ms. T say that. Mr. H said to Ms. T, "You just hold it for them. If they don't redeem it within the time limit, I'll get it back for you." Hearing Mr. H say that, Ms. T immediately agreed to pawn the computer for Ha for 2,500,000 VND. Ha used all of this money for personal expenses.

On June 17, 2019, realizing that his behavior was a violation of the law, Ta Ngoc Ha went to Tan Ky District Police to surrender.

On the morning of June 18, 2019, the Investigation Police Agency of Tan Ky District Police seized a black Dell laptop from Ms. T's family. The Asset Valuation Council concluded that the black Dell laptop had an actual value at the time of theft of VND 5,550,000.

The investigation process found that it did not affect the investigation, prosecution, and trial, so the Tan Ky District Police Department returned the money to the legal owner, Mr. Nguyen Duy Vinh. The person with related rights and obligations, Ms. Tran Thi T, received back the amount of 2,500,000 VND.

It is known that 2 months earlier, Ha was administratively fined 1.5 million VND by Tan Ky District Police for theft of property.

At the end of the trial, the panel sentenced Ta Ngoc Ha to 9 months in prison.
