Going to the border region of Dooc May to celebrate Independence Day
(Baonghean) - On the occasion of Independence Day, I went to Dooc May commune, Ky Son border district. The red of the flags and flowers, the green of the fields, and the uniforms of the Border Guard soldiers have decorated this border area to be more and more vibrant, so that every time Independence Day comes to the village, Dooc May becomes more and more stable and peaceful.

Delete the party cell
Taking on the role of Secretary of the Party Committee of Dooc May commune, term four, Mr. Gia Chong Nhenh said that every year at the end of August, the people of Dooc May proudly hang the bright red national flag in front of their houses. “First, to remember the days of the August Revolution, then to celebrate Independence Day September 2 - the day Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence” - standing from the commune headquarters, Mr. Gia Chong Nhenh said.
Standing at the commune headquarters, we can observe the panoramic view of the Mong villages in Dooc May. A peaceful, joyful and sacred feeling arose when we witnessed the image of Mong girls in traditional costumes walking next to the green shirts of the Border Guard soldiers under the red flags fluttering in the golden sunlight.
The army and people here are living and working together every day with the goal of "fulfilling the targets of economic, cultural and social development, maintaining national defense, security and foreign affairs; especially the target of reducing the number of poor households from 65% to 58% in 2019.", said Border Guard Major Hoang Van Cong - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Dooc May commune.

377 households with 1,817 people of Dooc May commune are all Mong ethnic people, living in 6 villages. Of the 6 villages, 5 have been recognized as cultural villages. Of the 9 party cells of Dooc May, before 2018, there was 1 Huoi Kho party cell under Project 01 of the Provincial Party Committee on "building party cells, developing party members in blocks, hamlets, and villages without party cells, without party members, and blocks, hamlets, and villages at risk of no longer having party cells in the period 2016 - 2020". Huoi Kho is the village with the fewest households (25 households), the most remote and difficult in Dooc May commune.
Until now, Huoi Kho people who want to ride motorbikes to the commune center still have to go around Huoi Tu commune, and if they go on foot, they have to climb shortcuts through forests and steep, dangerous mountains. In 2016, Huoi Kho Party cell only had 3 party members, including 2 local party members and 1 party member who is the commune vice chairman who comes to participate in activities.
Faced with the risk of no longer having a Party cell in Huoi Kho, the Standing Committee of the Dooc May Commune Party Committee met to discuss plans and implement measures to develop Party members here. Mr. Gia Ga Re - Secretary of the Huoi Kho Party Cell said that in 2016, as a native of Noong Han village, he was transferred by his superiors to the Huoi Kho Party Cell to take on the role of Secretary. In addition to Mr. Gia Ga Re, the Na Loi Border Guard Station also assigned a Party member of the station to participate in activities at the Huoi Kho Party Cell.

After 2 years of helping to orient the people of Huoi Kho to develop the economy, maintain security and order, and build a cultural village, by early 2018, the Huoi Kho Party cell had recruited 3 more party members. Up to now, the Huoi Kho Party cell has 7 party members, including 1 probationary party member. "Thanks to that, Huoi Kho is now happier than before, the Party cell has escaped the risk of having no party members; the people have built an effective economic model of growing passion fruit and raising buffaloes and cows for high income" - Mr. Gia Chong Nhenh happily said.
The mark of a "green-uniformed" party member
“Old No Bi’s family is very poor. In 2018, he was lucky to receive a pair of breeding pigs from the border guards of Na Loi Border Post, and his family has become much better off,” said the head of Huoi Vieng village, Gia Chong Lau. Pointing to the pair of native black pigs that were quite large and fat in a sturdy pen, Old No Bi in Huoi Vieng village happily said: “Now the pigs are very big. Thanks to them, our family will soon have more breeding pigs to raise, to escape poverty. I am very happy.”
Gia No Bi is one of dozens of households that received breeding pigs from officers and soldiers of Na Loi Border Guard Station to develop the economy and reduce poverty. “From 2016 to now, the Station has given the people of Dooc May commune 20 native black pigs for breeding, many of which have bred, generating income and creating motivation for economic development for the people,” said Senior Lieutenant Gia Ba Gio - Head of the Mass Mobilization Team of Na Loi Border Guard Station.

The mark that helps the border commune of Doc May of the Na Loi Border Post Party members is not only in economic development, but also in "covering" most areas, especially maintaining security and order, foreign affairs and consolidating grassroots party organizations; building village roads and grasping the security and order situation, patrolling, protecting border markers, keeping peace in the Dooc May border area, which has a 4 km border with neighboring Laos.
On August 19, in the golden sunshine of the August Revolution anniversary, participating in a meeting of the Women's Club participating in protecting the sovereignty and security of the border of the Women's Union of Dooc May commune in coordination with Na Loi Border Post, we felt the connection and necessity of the role of the Party Committee, government, organizations and soldiers in green uniforms in the remote border villages.
The club has nearly 40 members, members are "camped" throughout the villages. They are supported by border guards, disseminate legal knowledge to become information "channels" to help functional forces detect and report signs of crime and instability related to both sides of the border. "Thanks to that, for the past 3 years, Dooc May has been highly appreciated by superiors for its security and order, being a model commune for the "Drug-free commune" model, keeping the border of Ky Son peaceful" - Secretary Gia Chong Nhenh proudly said.

Saying goodbye to Dooc May, we returned to the lowlands, bringing with us bright smiles and joyful colors in the border commune, although there are still many poor households, but it is rich in revolutionary spirit and solidarity between the government and the people. These are also the colors that need to be highlighted more in the border communes, not only in Ky Son, so that the Fatherland's border is always peaceful, as the words of Secretary Gia Chong Nhenh: "So that every year on the occasion of Independence Day, the people of Dooc May will have more confidence in following the Party, building a prosperous village".
