How to wash your hair properly
There is no standard for the number of times you should wash your hair per week. Depending on your hair type, weather, and job, you should wash your hair every day or every 2-4 days.
Dr. Dang Tran Ngoc Thanh, a lecturer at Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine, said that Americans wash their hair on average 5.3 times a week. Koreans wash their hair twice a day. Many studies have shown that washing your hair every day can keep your hair healthy, clean, soft and beautiful.
According to Dr. Thanh, each person should wash their hair appropriately depending on their hair type, scalp condition, weather, and job. In the summer, people with oily hair, excessive sebum secretion, hair that is easily greasy and not shiny, should wash their hair once a day. People with dry, neutral hair should wash their hair 4-7 times a week. Slightly dry scalp and dry hair should wash their hair 2-3 times a week.
If you wash your hair properly, gently, and choose the right products, people with dry hair can wash their hair once a day. People who often work outdoors, whose hair is easily greasy due to dust particles in the air and ultraviolet rays, should wash their hair every day.
You should choose high-quality shampoos of natural, herbal origin, limit industrial shampoos containing chemical ingredients. Before washing, gently massage the scalp, making the sebum and dirt on the hair surface loose, then comb the hair with a comb from the ends, the body and finally the roots. After combing, use the inside of 10 fingers to gently massage the scalp, promoting blood circulation.
Dr. Thanh recommends avoiding pouring shampoo directly onto hair, instead pour shampoo into the palm of your hand and add a little water to dilute it before applying it to the scalp and wet hair. Washing time with industrial shampoo products should not exceed one minute and rinsing time should not exceed five minutes.
Hair that has just been washed is in its most vulnerable state. Therefore, before drying your hair, you can spray a nourishing essence on your hair, then use a towel that absorbs water well to dry your hair. Do not rub your hair vigorously.
It is best to let your hair dry naturally. Use a hair dryer on a low setting. Do not brush your hair immediately after washing to avoid damaging it. Do not go to bed with wet hair.
