Regarding the case of a brother killing his younger brother's family over a land dispute, on the afternoon of September 1, Colonel Nguyen Thanh Tung - Head of the Investigation Police Agency, Deputy Director of the Hanoi City Police Department, said that this agency has issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and execute an arrest warrant for Nguyen Van Dong (53 years old, residing in Hong Ha commune, Dan Phuong district, Hanoi) for the crime of "Murder".

Previously, according to a quick report from the People's Committee of Hong Ha commune (Dan Phuong district, Hanoi), at around 7:30 a.m. on September 1, Mr. Nguyen Van Dong (53 years old, residing in Bong Lai village, Hong Ha commune) took a sharp knife, a type of knife used to cut pig's blood, to the house of Mr. Nguyen Van Hai (51 years old, Mr. Dong's younger brother; living next door to each other) and suddenly stabbed, slashed, and killed many people in Mr. Hai's family.
At the time of the incident, many people were present to witness it, but no one dared to intervene because Mr. Dong was very aggressive.
The incident left Mr. Hai and Ms. Nguyen Thi Bac (31 years old, Mr. Hai's daughter) dead on the spot; Ms. Doan Thi Viet (49 years old, Mr. Hai's wife), Ms. Do Thi Nhung (24 years old, Mr. Hai's daughter-in-law) and baby Nguyen Huyen My (1 year old, Mr. Hai's granddaughter) seriously injured and taken to the emergency room.

The initial cause was determined to be family conflicts, economic and land disputes leading to the heartbreaking incident mentioned above.
According to the representative of the People's Committee of Hong Ha commune, by early afternoon of the same day, Huyen My and Mrs. Viet had died. The remaining victim is still being actively treated by doctors.
