Since the beginning of September, African swine fever has been on the rise and spreading rapidly in Dien Chau. From September 4 to 6 alone, Dien Chau district had 3 new outbreaks in 3 communes: Dien Thap, Dien Loi and Dien Hoa.
At the wild boar farm of Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong's family in Dien Thap commune on September 4, 12 pigs weighing 650 kg had to be destroyed. This is an isolated farm far from residential areas and the farm owner carefully prevented the epidemic, regularly sprayed chemicals, sprinkled lime powder, and did not allow strangers into the breeding area, but the pigs still got sick.
Mr. Cuong said: Currently, the family is focusing on measures to protect the remaining pigs such as isolating the area where the pigs died, closely monitoring the pig herd to have timely treatment measures.
