Suspending 8 illegal inland waterway ports in Nghe An
(Baonghean.vn) - Authorities in Nghe An have organized 185 patrols to control sand and gravel mining activities and suspended 8 illegal inland waterway ports.

Specifically, 8 inland waterway ports that violated the law were suspended from operation and fined 15 million VND, including:
1. Sand and gravel gathering station of Hoa Thuong Company Limited at Hamlet 6A, Hung Dao Commune (Hung Nguyen).
2. Sand and gravel gathering and trading wharf of Dat Anh Company Limited in Tan Ho hamlet, Tan Long commune (Tan Ky).
3. Sand and gravel wharf of Tam Tai Construction Joint Stock Company in Block 8, Tan Ky town (Tan Ky)
4. Sand and gravel wharf of Hai An Trading and Service Company Limited in Tan Thai hamlet, Tan Phu commune (Tan Ky).
5. Sand and gravel wharf of Cuong Hoa Company Limited in Hamlet 2, Ky Tan Commune (Tan Ky).
6. Sand and gravel wharf of Duc Anh Linh Company Limited in Nam Dan hamlet, Tan An commune (Tan Ky).
7. Sand and gravel wharf of Thanh Phat Company Limited at Hamlet 6B, Nghia Dong Commune, (Tan Ky).
8. Sand and gravel wharf of Viet Hoang Construction and Trade Joint Stock Company located at No. 13, Ha Huy Tap Ward (Vinh City).
Since the beginning of the year, the authorities in Nghe An have organized 185 patrols with 637 officers and soldiers participating. Through inspections, 222 cases of violations of the Law on Inland Waterway Traffic have been recorded, including the suspension of 8 illegal inland waterway ports; many illegal exhibits have been temporarily seized and fined, with 435.7 million VND paid to the budget.

With 82 km of coastline and 6 estuaries, 7 ports and 16 large and small rivers and canals, Nghe An has abundant inland waterways, over 1,179.6 km of waterways, of which 262.6 km have been exploited and managed and nearly 900 km are managed by districts; 16 ferry piers and 3 ferry piers.
Currently, the province has over 100 inland waterway ports in operation, but 53 of them are operating illegally. Of the total 400 means of transport, 300 vehicles regularly travel on inland waterways.
