Many Nghe specialties appeared at the 2019 Food Cooking Contest

(Baonghean.vn) - The 2019 culinary competition organized by Nghe An Department of Tourism featured many products bearing the culinary imprint of Nghe An.

With the aim of honoring talented and highly skilled chefs, encouraging the creation of new dishes and preserving and promoting traditional culinary cultural values, thereby enriching Nghe An tourism products, on September 26, Nghe An Department of Tourism organized the 2019 Professional Food Processing Competition.

The contest is a playground for talented chefs of restaurants and hotels in Nghe An province to not only showcase their own and their units' signature dishes, but also to diversify, enrich and promote culinary values, so that Nghe An's culinary culture becomes a tourism product.

This year’s competition gathered 16 contestants who are chefs from 13 tourism businesses, restaurants, and large hotels in the province. Within 1 session, each contestant had to go through 2 competitions: Cooking and Presentation of the dish.

There were 18 dishes prepared at the competition. Among them, there were many special dishes made from seafood such as shrimp, squid, fish, eel and other ingredients available in Nghe An. Not only that, the contestants also brought creative and elaborate dishes originating from Japan, China, and Europe to suit the current growing tourism trend.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and a series of consolation prizes.
