Postponement of the draw for men's football at SEA Games 30
(Baonghean.vn) - As planned, the draw ceremony was scheduled to take place today (October 3), however, the Philippines suddenly changed its decision and postponed the draw.
Previously, the host of the 30th SEA Games sent a notice to the Olympic Committees of the countries in the Southeast Asian region yesterday and the schedule for the draw for the men's football group of the 30th SEA Games was changed by the Philippines and postponed by 12 days, which means it will take place on October 15. This is also the time when the Vietnamese team will visit Indonesia in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in the Asian region.
If the draw takes place as announced by the Philippines, coach Park Hang-seo and his colleagues in the region will only have about a month to prepare and research their opponents.

Because they only ranked 3rd in the group stage of the 2017 SEA Games, the U22 Vietnam team was initially placed in the 4th seed group with Laos, Cambodia, East Timor and Brunei. However, the Vietnam Olympic Committee and VFF made recommendations and the U22 Vietnam team was promoted to Group 3 with Myanmar. Seed group 1 includes the host country Philippines and defending champion Thailand. Seed group 2 includes Malaysia and Indonesia.
According to the 30th SEA Games Organizing Committee, men's football will start on November 25 and end with the gold medal match on December 10.
Coach Park Hang-seo is expected to finalize the list of 23 players to go to the Philippines on November 20. The host team has also stipulated that each team will be allowed to add 2 players over 22 years old to the registration list sent to the Organizing Committee.
