(Baonghean.vn) - Although the contract between Le The Cuong and SLNA will not officially expire until the end of the 2019 season, the 29-year-old midfielder has decided to play for Hai Phong Club next season.

In a recent interview, Le The Cuong revealed: “There is a verbal agreement between me and Hai Phong Club. Right after the 2019 season ends, I will go to Hai Phong to sign an official contract.”

Le The Cuong was born in 1990, in the same generation as Vuong Quoc Trung, Que Ngoc Manh, Nguyen Canh Duong... in the youth teams of SLNA before. The player from Ha Tinh played outstandingly and contributed greatly to the championship of U21 SLNA at the 2012 National U21 Finals.

However, in the SLNA first team, Le The Cuong could not show much. Even in the 2016 season, Le The Cuong had to "go South" to join the XSKT Can Tho Club. Thanks to his excellent performances in the Western Capital, at the beginning of the 2017 season, Le The Cuong was invited by SLNA to return to Vinh Stadium to compete.

Unfortunately, persistent injuries have hindered Le The Cuong's brilliance. In the last 3 seasons (2017 - 2019), the 29-year-old midfielder's familiar position has been on the bench or in the medical room. Up to this point in V.League 2019, the player wearing the number 14 shirt has only played 409 minutes and has not scored any goals.

Wearing the Hai Phong FC shirt, Le The Cuong will be playing alongside many players from Nghe An. Typically, goalkeeper Phan Dinh Vu Hai, defender Nguyen Van Duc and midfielder Dau Thanh Phong./.
