2019 National Taekwondo Clubs Tournament: Nghe An reaps a bumper crop of medals
(Baonghean.vn) - With the appearance of young and potential athletes such as Nguyen Van Dai, Nguyen Thi Kim Anh, Pham Thi Quynh Trang, Taekwondo Nghe An continues to bring success at the 2019 National Taekwondo Championship for Strong Clubs.
This year’s tournament attracted nearly 800 athletes and coaches from 48 Taekwondo clubs from provinces, cities and sectors across the country. The athletes competed for 82 sets of medals in 3 age groups (12-14 years old), (15-17 years old) and over 17 years old, both in individual and team competitions.
After 6 days of exciting competition at Gia Lai Provincial Gymnasium, the 2019 National Taekwondo Championship for Strong Clubs has ended with the superiority of Ho Chi Minh City athletes. According to the assessment of experts and the Organizing Committee, the matches demonstrated a very high level of professionalism, with many important new factors appearing to supplement the national team.

In the men's competition, Ho Chi Minh City won the first place overall with 9 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals. In the women's competition, the first place overall belonged to Binh Dinh with 5 gold medals and 1 bronze medal.
Nghe An Taekwondo Team also made a strong impression at the tournament with 4 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals and 5 Bronze Medals. With this achievement, Nghe An ranked 3rd in terms of achievements among the participating teams.
The outstanding athletes who brought gold medals to Nghe An include: Nguyen Van Dai (87 kg), Nguyen Thi Kim Anh (68 kg), Pham Thi Quynh Trang (53 kg) and the female team over 17 years old.

Athletes Vo Thi Dung (73 kg), Nguyen Thi Uyen (57 kg), Nguyen Thi Lam Oanh (over 68 kg) also excelled in bringing home silver medals. The bronze medals of Taekwondo Nghe An were won by Tran An Duoc (59 kg), Nguyen Thi Anh (42 kg), Dang Khanh Nhi (63 kg) and Quyen tao tao 5 people age group 15-17 by Nguyen Thi Anh Quyen.
Evaluating the achievements of Nghe An athletes at this tournament, Head of Delegation - Coach Dang Dinh Hung said: "This time, Taekwondo Nghe An was successful in bringing home a large number of medals, the quality of Nghe An athletes was also highly appreciated by the Organizing Committee, with 7 athletes being awarded the title of Grandmaster.
Despite the difficult conditions, the athletes were determined to win medals, especially the female athletes. In the women's team event, to overcome many strong opponents like Ho Chi Minh City and win the gold medal was not easy."
