Bringing 3 other people into the company, Vang called the employee who suspected her of having an affair with her husband to the meeting room to fight for her by shaving her head and trimming her eyebrows.

On November 20, District 7 People's Court, Ho Chi Minh City opened the first instance trial of defendant Nguyen Thi Kim Vang (31 years old, from Dong Thap) for the crime of "Humiliating others".

According to the indictment, Vang and Ms. Nguyen Hai D. worked together at Target Agruculture LLC, which was owned by Mr. T. (a German national). Vang was the company manager, and Ms. D. was the assistant secretary to the director.

Vang and Mr. T. lived together as husband and wife but did not register their marriage. During work, she suspected that Ms. D. had a relationship with Mr. T., so she became jealous and intended to intimidate Ms. D. and the female employees in the company so that no one would hang around with her "husband".

At around 11am on January 3, 2018, Vang brought a hair clipper and invited his niece Phan Ngoc Lua and two young men (identities unknown) to go with him to beat up a woman. When he arrived at the company, Vang called Ms. D. and three other employees into the meeting room.

As soon as Ms. D. entered, Vang rushed over and used a clipper to cut her hair and eyebrows. While cutting, Vang asked, "Why did you steal my husband? How many times have you been to the hotel with my husband?"

However, Ms. D. did not admit to having a romantic relationship with Mr. T. but only admitted to sending intimate text messages at work.

While Vang was humiliating Ms. D., Lua used her phone to record the entire act of jealousy. Realizing her wrongdoing, Lua deleted the recorded clips.

After being humiliated, Ms. D. went to the police to report Vang's actions.

At the trial, Ms. D. testified that in addition to having her hair cut by Vang, her eyebrows were also injured by the defendant. However, she was not taken for an assessment to determine the degree of disability caused by Vang's actions.

Mr. T. stated that before committing the act of jealousy and humiliating Ms. D., Vang had cut off the entire camera system of the company. According to Mr. T., Vang's actions had affected production and business; caused panic and fear among employees, causing many to quit their jobs.

However, according to Mr. T., during the investigation, the company was not included in the proceedings as a civil plaintiff. At the same time, although he is a German national, when taking his statement, he was not assigned an interpreter to collect evidence in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code, affecting the legitimate rights of the company and himself.

Considering that the defendant's actions constituted the crime of "Humiliating others" and causing social disorder, after consideration, the panel of judges decided to sentence the defendant to 1 year of non-custodial reform.
