If you are indoors and you hear the building shaking, objects falling or the sounds of impact, you should not panic but try to calm yourself. Do not try to run out of the building when an earthquake is happening, but find a shelter such as under a table, crawl down and hold your head. If there is no table, find a corner or a high enough wall to cover your body to hide when an earthquake occurs because in reality, falling objects during an earthquake are often not vertical. |

If you are in a car, pull over to the side of the road, in the clearest place possible and stay in the car. Avoid parking under overpasses, buildings or trees when an earthquake occurs. Do not stop in the middle of the road immediately when you feel an earthquake as it may cause an unusual accident for you and the cars behind you. |
