Nghe An has 26 more people awarded the title of Meritorious Artisan
(Baonghean.vn) - 26 artisans from Nghe An province have made outstanding contributions to preserving and promoting the nation's intangible cultural heritage and have been awarded the title of Meritorious Artisan by the President.
On the morning of November 23, the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Culture and Sports held a ceremony to award the title of Meritorious Artisan to 26 artisans who have made many contributions to preserving and promoting the nation's intangible cultural heritage.

| Attending the ceremony were comrade Nong Quoc Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Heritage, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of the Department of Culture and Sports. |
Properly assessing the role and importance of artisans, the keepers of cultural heritage, in 2019, the President twice decided to award the title of People's Artisan and Meritorious Artisan to 561 individuals in the field of intangible cultural heritage.

After 2 rounds of consideration, Nghe An province has 65 artisans who were awarded the title of Meritorious Artisan by the President. In the second round, 26 artisans were awarded. Of which, 13 are Vi-Giam folk artists, 11 are artists of other folk performing genres such as: Ca Tru, Tuong, Thai ethnic folk songs, ethnic music performances and 02 are artists of the Social Customs and Beliefs category.

Along with 26 individuals awarded the title of Meritorious Artist, Nghe An province also has 01 Meritorious Artist awarded the title of People's Artist and 06 artists awarded the title of Meritorious Artist, also honored at the ceremony. These artists all work in the province's art troupes, including 05 artists of the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Nghe An Folk Heritage and 02 artists of the Nghe An Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long especially acknowledged the achievements and contributions of collectives and individuals to the cause of preserving and promoting cultural heritage, contributing worthily to the cause of building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the talented artists of the province who were honored this time will continue to make constant creative efforts, creating new spiritual values for the national culture.
