Nghe An province has 26 more people awarded the title of Outstanding Artisan.

(Baonghean.vn) - 26 artisans from Nghe An province who have made outstanding contributions to preserving and promoting the intangible cultural heritage of the nation have been awarded the title of "Outstanding Artisan" by the President of Vietnam.

On the morning of November 23rd, the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Culture and Sports held a ceremony to award the title of "Outstanding Artisan" to 26 artisans who have made significant contributions to the preservation and promotion of the nation's intangible cultural heritage.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nong Quoc Thanh - Deputy Director of the Department of Heritage, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Representing Nghe An province were: Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives from the Department of Culture and Sports.

Recognizing the true role and importance of artisans, those who preserve cultural heritage, in 2019, the President of Vietnam twice decided to award the titles of People's Artisan and Distinguished Artisan to 561 individuals in the field of intangible cultural heritage.

Comrade Nong Quoc Thanh and Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son presented certificates to the outstanding artisans.

Through two rounds of awarding, Nghe An province has 65 artisans who have been awarded the title of "Outstanding Artisan" by the President of Vietnam. In the second round, 26 artisans were awarded the title. These include 13 artisans of Vi-Giam folk singing, 11 artisans in other folk performance genres such as Ca Tru, Tuong, Thai ethnic folk songs, and traditional music performances, and 2 artisans in the category of social customs and beliefs.

Comrade Bui Dinh Long presented flowers to congratulate the People's Artists and Meritorious Artists who were recently awarded these titles by the President of Vietnam.

Along with 26 individuals awarded the title of Outstanding Artisan, Nghe An province also had 1 Outstanding Artist awarded the title of People's Artist and 6 artists awarded the title of Outstanding Artist, who were also honored at the ceremony. These artists all work in the province's art troupes, including 5 artists from the Center for Preservation and Promotion of Nghe An Folk Song Heritage and 2 artists from the Nghe An Ethnic Music and Dance Troupe.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long particularly acknowledged the achievements and contributions of collectives and individuals to the cause of preserving and promoting cultural heritage, making a worthy contribution to the building of an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his hope that the talented artists of the province honored on this occasion would continue to strive for continuous creativity, creating new spiritual values ​​for national culture.
