(Baonghean.vn) - During the cesarean section, the doctor was not careful and tore the newborn baby boy's head, requiring 6 stitches.

On the afternoon of November 22, speaking with Nghe An Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Sy Thanh - Director of Quynh Luu General Hospital said that the hospital had warned the doctor who caused the newborn baby's head to be torn during the delivery. "It was the doctor's negligence. The scalpel was sharp and hit the baby's head. We have reminded the doctor to be more careful," Mr. Thanh said.

Previously, on November 18, Ms. Tran Thi Luong (An Hoa commune) showed signs of labor so her family took her to Quynh Luu District General Hospital to wait for delivery. In the early morning of November 19, Ms. Luong was taken to the operating table. About 1 hour later, her 3.3kg baby boy was born and was carried out to Ms. Luong's relatives.

But at this time, the family was shocked to discover that the baby had stitches on his head. "When asked, the doctor said that it was due to carelessness when he touched the scalpel and tore his head. They said the injury was minor and did not affect him in any way. The baby had 6 stitches, not 2 as the hospital announced," the mother's family said.

A day later, the boy was taken to the hospital by his family to get a hepatitis B vaccination. That evening, the boy developed a fever of 40 degrees and had a seizure, causing everyone to panic. Fearing that the wound would affect the child, his family decided to keep him in the hospital for further observation.

Also on November 19, another medical incident occurred at this hospital. Accordingly, the pregnant woman Ho Thi M., while pushing to give birth, when the fetus's head was low, suddenly stopped breathing, her whole body turned purple, she gradually lost consciousness, and her carotid and femoral pulses could not be felt. Doctors had to raise the red alert for the entire hospital, the pregnant woman was intubated, circulatory arrest was performed, and the fetus was surgically removed. However, the fetus later died.

The doctors who performed the hysterectomy then recommended transferring the woman to Nghe An General Hospital. She is still in critical condition. The cause of the incident is still being investigated.
