3 Nghe An 'evil women' tricked people into applying for jobs at hospitals and stole nearly 3 billion VND

(Baonghean.vn) - "Breaking" that she could apply for a job as a nurse, accountant... at hospitals, Nghe An Blood Transfusion Hematology Center, Ngo Thi Oanh, Nguyen Thi Thuy, Nguyen Thi Hang have defrauded and appropriated more than 2.7 billion VND.

On the morning of November 25, Nghe An Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial of three defendants, all from Vinh city: Ngo Thi Oanh (born in 1969), residing in Hung Dong commune, Nguyen Thi Thuy (born in 1975), residing in Hung Loc commune, Nguyen Thi Hang (born in 1985), residing in Le Loi ward, for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

According to the investigation agency's documents, although they did not have the function or task of finding jobs, Oanh and Hang discussed and agreed to receive applications and money for jobs at the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center and hospitals in Nghe An province. In which, Oanh would be responsible for finding workers, receiving applications and money from job applicants, while Hang would be responsible for contacting and applying for jobs.

Between 2014 and 2018, Oanh took advantage of the trust of the victims and promised to help them find jobs. In addition, Oanh discussed with Nguyen Thi Thuy, an agricultural extension officer at the Vinh City Agricultural Extension Station, to find workers for Oanh to find jobs for them. Thuy agreed to do so.

The investigation agency determined that Ngo Thi Oanh had committed 10 frauds with a total amount of more than 2.7 billion VND. Of these, Nguyen Thi Hang committed 6 frauds, appropriating 420 million VND, and Nguyen Thi Thuy committed 1 fraud, appropriating 210 million VND.

After being prosecuted, Ngo Thi Oanh returned nearly 800 million VND to the victims.

At the trial, the three defendants admitted their crimes. After the incident, Nguyen Thi Hang returned all the money she had taken from the victim.

During the debate, Ngo Thi Oanh requested the court to temporarily suspend the trial so that the defendant could compensate the victims for their losses. Therefore, the court accepted the defendant Oanh’s request. The trial will continue on December 2.
