On the afternoon of December 2, the Nghi Loc District Police Investigation Agency announced: The unit has initiated a case, prosecuted the accused and issued a 2-month detention order for Pham Van Son (born in 1988), residing in Hamlet 13, Nghi Phong Commune, Nghi Loc District to investigate and clarify the act of property theft.
Previously, on November 27, Nghi Loc District Police received a report: On the morning of November 25, the family of Mr. Nguyen Ba Tuan (born in 1972), residing in Hamlet 8, Phuc Tho Commune, was broken into by a thief who stole a 55-inch LG flat screen TV, a karaoke amplifier, and an Appo phone. The total value of the stolen property was 30 million VND.

The Criminal Investigation Police Team on Criminal - Economic - Drug Crimes of Nghi Loc District Police and Phuc Tho Commune Police conducted verification and investigation of the relationships with Mr. Tuan's family. Thereby, Pham Van Son was found to be a suspect. After having enough evidence, on the evening of November 27, the investigation agency arrested this subject.
At the investigation agency, Pham Van Son admitted his crime. Son stated: He has been in love with Mr. Tuan's daughter, NAT, since 2017. Thuong Son lost her father and her mother remarried. Mr. Tuan adopted Son as his "adopted son" and let the subject live in his house. After dating for a while, NAT went to work abroad and broke up with Son. Even though he had a new lover, the subject still often visited Mr. Tuan's house.
Due to lack of money, at around 8am on November 25, the subject went to Mr. Tuan's house and stole the above property and then sold it to a home electronics store in the area. It is known that Pham Van Son is on probation because previously, in October 2018, the subject was sentenced by the Nghi Loc District People's Court to 3 months in prison for theft of property.
Currently, the case is being further investigated by the authorities.
