(Baonghean.vn) - Playing with the mentality of the favorite team, U22 Vietnam has demonstrated the mettle of the team that won the runner-up position at the AFC U23 Championship and is the current champion of the 2018 AFF Cup.

Summary of the match U22 Vietnam 3-0 U22 Indonesia

Before entering the final match, the statistics showed the strange balance that both teams had achieved at SEA Games 30 in terms of goals scored, goals conceded, best striker, and number of wins. So it is not difficult to understand that when the main referee blew the whistle to start the match, both U22 Indonesia and U22 Vietnam entered the match with a certain caution.

In the 6th minute, the first dangerous opportunity of the match was given to Indonesia with a free kick from quite a distance. However, Zulfiandi had a powerful free kick and the ball went very difficult but Van Toan had a cool handling to punch the ball away for a corner kick.

Exactly 10 minutes later, U22 Vietnam had a remarkable response. Duc Chinh handled the ball skillfully before making a technical chip that went past the U22 Indonesia goalpost.

In the middle minutes of the first half, the white team raised their formation, creating significant pressure on the opponent's field, forcing U22 Indonesia to shrink their formation to defend. In the 22nd minute, Evan Dimas and Van Hau collided when U22 Vietnam's number 5 defender joined the attack, causing the Indonesian midfielder to be injured and forced to leave the field.

Losing an important player in midfield, U22 Indonesia lost more control of the ball, and at the same time, the "golden star warriors" continuously created opportunities.

In the 35th minute, receiving a pass from Hung Dung, Tien Linh passed the ball back to Hoang Duc who shot with his left foot similar to the super goal in the group stage against U22 Indonesia. However, this time the ball went just wide of the goal.

However, fans did not have to wait too long to celebrate the goal of U22 Vietnam. From a free kick outside the penalty area near the left corner flag, Captain Do Hung Dung crossed the ball into the box for Doan Van Hau to jump high and head the ball into the net of U22 Indonesia to open the score in the 39th minute.

In the remaining minutes of the first half, both teams tried to attack, however, no more really dangerous opportunities were created. The two teams entered the break with the temporary result of 1-0 in favor of U22 Vietnam.

With the lead, Coach Park Hang-seo's team played comfortably in the second half. Meanwhile, U22 Indonesia had no choice but to focus on attacking to find an equalizer. The beginning of the second half witnessed an exciting exchange of attacks from both teams.

Understanding the opponent's impatience, Coach Park Hang-seo instructed his players to play low to defend and wait for counterattacks. In the 59th minute, from his left wing, Van Hau broke through and then passed the ball to the right wing, Hoang Duc crossed the ball inside, Tien Linh created a wall for Hung Dung to rush up and place a very dangerous shot that completely defeated Arga Nadeo, raising the score to 2-0 for U22 Vietnam.

Despite having a 2-goal lead, the white team's defense still played calmly and firmly. With the overwhelming support of the fans in the stands, the U22 Vietnam attack became more and more excited.

In the 72nd minute, from a set piece near the right wing, Hoang Duc crossed the ball inside, causing goalkeeper Nadeo to block it poorly. Doan Van Hau was there in time to rush in and score the third goal against U22 Indonesia, scoring a double for himself.

In the remaining minutes of the match, U22 Indonesia, with nothing left to lose, put all their strength into attacking. However, in a perfect match day, U22 Vietnam's defense and the excellence of Van Toan did not give the other team any hope, not even a consolation goal.

At the end of the match, U22 Vietnam won 3-0 against U22 Indonesia. Men's football won the first gold medal at the SEA Games after 28 years of returning to the regional arena.
