(Baonghean.vn) - This morning, the organizer of the Vietnam Golden Ball award released a list of nominees including the most impressive players in football and futsal this year, including goalkeeper Nguyen Manh - former captain of SLNA.

Although he was not lucky enough to contribute to the overall achievements of the national team due to Van Lam's stability as well as unexpected injuries, Nguyen Manh is still a strategic card that coach Park Hang-seo has summoned at least twice this year to be a backup for Van Lam in the World Cup qualifying campaign.

At the club level, Nguyen Manh's final season in SLNA's jersey marked the shining performance of the new captain. Returning from a serious injury, the goalkeeper from Do Luong trained tirelessly, trying to regain his form as soon as possible. Nguyen Manh's efforts, along with the excellence of the front line, helped SLNA overcome the first half of the 2019 V.League season with an impressive position on the rankings.

Besides Nguyen Manh, another player who played very impressively for SLNA last season, Damir Memović, was nominated for Best Foreign Player.

On the other hand, former SLNA midfielder Nguyen Trong Hoang did not have a satisfactory V.League season. He was not able to be on the list of players registered to compete in the first half of the V.League due to problems in signing a new contract with SLNA and Viettel after leaving Thanh Hoa.

Finally, Viettel got Trong Hoang but he was not used in the first leg, but his appearance in the second leg added significant strength to the team, officially securing a safe position when V.League 2019 ended.

At the national team level, Trong Hoang completed his collection of titles with the SEA Games gold medal after more than 10 years of waiting. In the World Cup qualifiers, Asian Cup and friendly tournaments, in a new position that Coach Park Hang-seo arranged him in a 5-defender formation, Trong Hoang has excellently taken on the right wing, helping the Vietnam national team possess a tireless offensive and defensive element, reaping many successes reaching the continental level, surpassing the "village pond" territory.

The deadline to send votes to the Organizing Committee is December 31, 2019. After that, the shortlist for the categories will be announced and the 2019 Vietnam Golden Ball Award Gala will take place on February 13, 2020.
