Real pine trees costing millions are popular during Christmas season
The 1.2 - 2m tall Christmas tree is the most popular among families among the groups imported to Vietnam.
This Christmas season, a business in Ho Chi Minh City imported 500 real pine trees from Germany, including 2 pine trees that are 8-10 years old and 7 meters tall, but did not disclose the selling price. According to pine enthusiasts, with such height and age, the price could be up to 40 million VND.
According to this company, customers buy real pine trees earlier than every year. If last year they were sold out in December, this year they have been ordered since November. Currently, there are only 1-2 trees left, which are from customers who have urgent matters to sell. Compared to last year, the price of real pine trees this year has increased by 5%.

Overall, this year, the 1.2 m tall pine tree is the most popular. This product sold out first out of 15 groups of trees. This is also the group that is commonly purchased by family customers. The group of trees with a height of 2-5 m is mostly suitable for the requirements of restaurants and hotels.
"We import this type from the US, with prices ranging from 3-10 million VND per tree, including a stand; optional decorative accessory package and can keep its freshness for over a month," the representative of the importing unit shared.
According to importers, real pine is quite complicated to import. They are bundled, packed in wooden boxes and left to "hibernate" at low temperatures before being transported to Vietnam by ship. Therefore, transportation costs are high and product prices have also increased compared to previous years.
