Authorities have decided to initiate criminal proceedings and indict the suspect who stole antiques worth billions of dong and then buried them in a deserted plot of land.
On December 17th, the Criminal Investigation Department of Ba Dinh District Police announced that they have initiated a criminal case and indicted Phung Viet Manh (born in 1987, residing at Team 12, Village 3, Thach Da, Me Linh) for the crime of theft.

Earlier, at around 1 AM on November 30th, Phung Viet Manh used bolt cutters to break the lock on a door and sneaked into a house at alley 95, Vinh Phuc Street, Vinh Phuc Ward, Ba Dinh District, stealing many antiques worth billions of VND.
After that, Mạnh took the motorbike from the house and fled with the antiques.
Immediately after receiving reports from citizens, the Ba Dinh District Police quickly deployed forces to investigate, verify, and track down the perpetrator. On December 8th, the Criminal Police Team of Ba Dinh District Police arrested Phung Viet Manh.
At the police station, the suspect confessed that after stealing the antiques, he buried them in a deserted plot of land in Co Nhue 1 ward, Bac Tu Liem district. Authorities have recovered all the stolen items.
Currently, the Ba Dinh District Police are consolidating the case file to prosecute the suspect according to the law.
